The new halo game has been rumored to be squad based, but there was no true proof or hint of this at all really until recently. While reading the second jiberish bungie announcement post, I found some interesting text. Look for the italicized words in the quote.

This leads me to beleive two things.

1. The next halo game will most likely be squad based.

2. You may take the role of ODST Troopers, or perhaps a different type of UNSC soldier.

Although EXTREMELY old now that we know Halo: ODST is out, I think Bungie will one day make a squad-based game.
